FOLLY BEACH, S.C. — Thousands of menhaden have washed up on Folly Beach on the South Carolina coast, and an official says they were apparently killed by cold weather.

The above news item was published on the South Caroline State Hompage. According to the post The Associated Press reported on 6 Jan 2011 that as many as 10,000 fish washed up on the coast of South Carolina.  Of course as you can see, in the very first sentence of the report. an official says they were killed by cold weather.  It's the same day of the occurance and already OFFICIALS have been able to determine what killed the fish.  Really!  I don't think so.  It is only reasonable to believe that before an offical report should be put out to the public, that at least some some sort of scientific investigation into the incident would have to be conducted and you would assume that this would take some time. Afterall, it's better to be sure, isn't it.  It's the same old story, something unexplainable happens, an official, rushes to put out a report to appease the public, and hopefully (for them) the story will go away.  Except, it doesn't seem to be going away this time.

I only learned of this new incident because a friend of mine, who lives in South Carolina, posted something about it on to my fb profile.  Keep watching and remain vigilant.
